Floyd Slaski Partnership were weathering a turbulent economy in the early 1990’s, thanks to their specialist work in Healthcare, and Estate Action projects, so I was fortunate to have been taken on by one of the company’s directors, Istvan Meisels to assist his work on the Eastman Dental Hospital in central London.
Still working on a drawing board, I updated changes made within the warren of corridors in the Beaux-Arts influenced hospital, and prepared as-built drawings for a recently completed operating theatre.
With a number of Estate Action projects on site in Lambeth, Kensington and Camden and Southwark, I then became involved with various tasks including surveys, tenant liaison, through to working on schemes for concierge and security features while developing details, schedules and NBS specifications.
