Appel Behzadi and Bohne was a Leipzig based architectural practice born from the re-unification of Germany in the early 1990's.
With limited spoken German, the three founding partners took quite a risk employing me in an office where very little English was spoken. But with reasonable construction knowledge and good CAD and computer skills I soon became quite useful.
Working with one of the young architects initially drawing up cladding details for the Strohsack Shopping Centre in Leipzig's Nikolaistrasse.
I then helped them set up 4 Mac based Minicad workstations, training employees, as well as working on the design and planning of a sports hall and various residential projects around the city.
